Disney Princesses Got Violated

Disney Princesses violated in the series of Thomas Czarnecki photos. I find the series disturbing. I think if his focus was indeed to portray disturbing violence towards women in a negative light, there are much better ways to make the focus less ambiguous. Since there is no other present in the frame and the women are clearly dead or imprisoned, I am led to believe the artist is just portraying this for the sake of it, and not from some anti-rape ideal.

Most disturbing of the lot to me: Alice, seemingly tied up and killed in a basement, and Pochahontas. Pochahontas took it to a TOTALLY different (now including racism, open violence against women, misogyny) level of offense for me. The fact that she was the only woman in a photo with an Other, while simultaneously being treated as an animal, is extremely disturbing (and speaks to me of a deep racism issue here too, not to mention a severe misunderstanding of Native American culture and history.)

These just seem like glorified rape culture fueled snuff shots of young girls.

Everyone has their first steps. They say that the beginning is the hardest thing. For some of these people it looks like a walk through the park. Nanny and Photographer- Vivien Mayer

Vivian Myer was born in New York but grow up in France, and than, again, after WWII came to America in Chicago. She had French accent, which was perfect for a nanny in the States at that time. Children just loved her and they loved her, too. What no one knew is her love to photography. She was amateur street photographer. During the years she made a collection of more than 100, 000 photos. She took photos primarily of people and cityscapes most often in Chicago, although she traveled and photographed worldwide. Her photographs remained unknown and mostly undeveloped and unprinted until they were discovered by a local historian, John Maloof, in 2007.
“She was a Socialist, a Feminist, a movie critic, and a tell-it-like-it-is type of person. She learned English by going to theaters, which she loved. She wore a men’s jacket, men’s shoes and a large hat most of the time. She was constantly taking pictures, which she didn’t show anyone”. This is how Vivien Mayer was described by John Maloof.

Vivien Mayer never did anything what would reviled her passion for photography, and if it weren’t for the auction for the unpayed issues, which lead to John Maloof, she would remain the best kept secret of all times. The moment John saw the photos, even though he is a real estate agent, he knew this a genuine piece of art.
On her photos you will mostly see the streets and everyday people. Photos are so lively and in touch with everyday life, that on the first exhibition, In Chicago, people were expecting for Vivien to show up. It looks like she is talking to the photo and as if “models” are talking to the viewer back. For being a street photographer, you have to have a good eye and a lot of patient and to recognize when is the right moment to take the shot.

These Bond girls are as beautiful as all the other Bond girls are, with one exception, these girls are not a damsel in distress. These girls are true villains! They are magnetically attractive and as well murderous. Typically fame-fatal. Their look kills. Bond as a true womanizer can’t resist the charms of these girls and soon gets into trouble, but after all he is in Her Majesty’s secret service and he is prepared for all bunch of things. Zena Marshall is starring as a Chinese bad girl. She is evil and gets arrested at the end of Dr. No, but that doesn’t prevent Miss Taro to sleep with Bond.

Luciana Palluzzo in Thunderball is an assassin and she usually makes love to her victims before killing them, and bad girl like Fiona Volpe had a mission to kill Bond. She doesn’t manage to do it, when they meet in the club and start to dance the bullet for Bond gets its way to Fiona and she dies, as all the villains.

You Only Live Twice Mr Bond! He manages to escape from certain death and gets away from plane of death. Karin Dor or Helga Brandt as she is being called in the movie, as all ultimate bad characters she has an unfortunate ending. As she doesn’t manage to kill Bond she is punished and gets fed to piranhas by Blofeld.

Rosi Carver is one dangerous woman, she is so NOT trustful! She is a CIA double-agent! She’s got a bikini moment on Quarrel Jr.’s Boat while they are deep sea fishing. Gloria Hendry is the first black Bond girl. The movie is Live And Let Die.

Naomi is a helicopter driver in The Spy Who Loved Me, but even though Caroline Munro is such a pretty girl and a good aircraft driver she gets killed, because, after all she is a bad girl. 007 and Major Anya Amasova, in the Lotus Esprit Submarine, use a guided Surface-to-Air Missile to shoot down Naomi’s helicopter.

Never Say Never Again introduces another super hot villain Barbara Carrera as Fatima Blush. She is super dangerous. Bond fires his Rocket Grenade Pen at her. Ironically, nothing is left but her high heels.

A View To A Kill indeed! You Will call May Day when you see Grace Jones! Not only she looks dangerous and full of strength, she is one powerful woman and she dies for the cause. She sacrifices herself after Zorin’s betrayal. She is blown up outside of the mine when the bomb goes off.

Now this super bad girl in Goldeneye has a super bad, super naughty name Xenia Onatopp. Onatopp and Bond share some very competitive and sexy moments, most notably in the Sauna Scene. Xenia whirls around after being flung to the floor, a sexy, mischievous grin on her face. Played by the tall, leggy Dutch actress Famke Janssen, Xenia was an impressive 5’11” in height, and must have weighed somewhere in the area of 120-150 lbs.

It seems like The World Is Not Enough and as Elektra King is sayin: “You don’t take no for an answer, do you?” and Bond never does, you know it already! Elektra is being played Sophie Marceau.

Miranda Frost seems to know everything about 007 agents. “Remember, I know all about you, 007: sex for dinner, death for breakfast. Well, it’s not going to work with me.” Die Another Day has Rosamund Pike as the leading bad character.

Valenka is so far the last bad girl in 007 serial. She is being played in Casino Royale by Ivana Milicevic. Her evil plan is win back her boyfriend’s money at all costs. This doesn’t ends up so good as you may imagine.

She retired from acting very early at the age of 39 and been involved with various animal rights causes. Not only she was a actress, she also recorded various songs in the 60′s and 70s’. Brigitte Bardot is married with D’Ormale a politician from French extreme right party. So, it is not need to say that she must agree with his political views. I am sure that Picasso had his heroes when he was a child, but how did they look? His broken people were representing the torn apart feelings all mixed up with facial expressions. I guess the heroes are more mixed up and in bigger trouble than the ordinary people are. Just think about it! It is all about being heroic, saving the world and at the same time you must stay undercover, and never give up your identity. It is some serious stuff there. You will agree that this is not easy to do. Having a day and night job at the same time. It is not a wonder to see their emotions all coming up on the surface in this Picasso’s way of seeing stuff. Wonder would he feel the same and find it as fascinating as we did today? It is a bloody shame he didn’t draw his heroes and his childhood heroes, wonder how he would find them looking.

You all know who Sade is. She is so wonderful, looks so fragile and feminine, so gentle and so strong at the same time. Even though, Sade is one of the most in-demand soul artist of today, she knows how to keep her private life-private! This is something what makes her even more interesting to the people who love her music. Here I have collected some facts about her, which you maybe already knew or maybe not.

Here is the fact most fans know. Her real name is Helen Folasade Adu with her middle name Folasade meaning “honor confers your crown”. She is born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Sade was studying fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. At that time Sade sang backing vocals in the group Pride. She got the attention of record execs with her solo performances of the group’s hit song “Smooth Operator” and signed a solo deal with Epic Records. She took three members of the band Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Denman, with her.

Although many artist wanted to work with Sade, she has never accepted a request to collaborate. And also, she allowed her voice to be sampled on very rare occasions. She even recently just shut down an invitation to collaborate with hip hop giants Jay-Z and Drake, saying, “I’m too scared. They’ll find me out. It’s like ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ They’ll find out there’s nothing there.”

Jason Kronenwald’s Gum Blondes

Jason Kronenwald, a graduate of Queens University with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts, is an emerging artists based in Toronto, where he produces his Gum Blonde Chewing Gum Portraits. Jason smoothes chewed gum over plywood, creating realistic skin tones and hair colour, composing his palatte from the multitude of different flavours and colours chewed together. Each Gum Blonde is 100% chewed Bubblegum on a plywood backing. No paint or dye is used. The colour is inherent to the gum – the mixing of colour takes place inside the mouth during chewing. Kronenwald has a dedicated team of chewers and prefers the texture of Trident. However, he does not chew gum himself unless he must. Always a reflection of celebrity culture, A few of his subjects include Brigitte Bardot, Marilyn Monroe, Britney Spears and Kate Moss. Enjoy :)

The Grand Ole Bestiary is an interesting project that contains many pseudo-retro black and white photos. You can’t see any human heads because they all are replaced with the heads of animals. Every picture and every character are unique and have their own name and story.
