There was always a fascination with music in fashion industry. Music divas would never look so stylish without a help of designers. Here are just some of the most memorable interactions between two of them.
Thierry Mugler was creating clothes for Beyonce’s tour I Am… The singer was trilled with his designs which she saw on exhibition Superheros at Metropolitan, New York. Beyonce decided to call Thierry for help. He was creating all that beautiful designs for the tour and for the album. She helped his comeback on the scene which he left in 2003.

She looked wonderful in Muglers creation for her music video Diva.

Lady Gaga was also wearing Mugler for her music video Born This Way, and she is gladly using Mugler’s creations for her shows, since her friend Nicola Farnichetti became a creative director of this house.

Alexander McQueen is one of the best known designers. Even if you haven’t herd about him till now, after royal wedding, everybody knows who he is. But what we are interested in, is his cooperation with music stars. The one unforgettable is with Lady Gaga. No one will forget those shoes from the music video Bad Romance.

In long waited music video for the song Run The World Beyonce was wearing Alexander McQueen.

1997 McQueen was the creator of the dress and look for the album cover for Bjork, Homogenic, as well as the director for the musical video for song Alarm Call from the album Homogenic. Bjork told the designer that the songs from Homogenetic were written by someone who had to became warrior, but not the one fighting with guns, but the one fighting with love. And this is how these creations appeared.

In 2004 for the music video Who Is It, Bjork was wearing the famous McQueen dress. After McQueen’s death she sang touchy and dark song Gloomy Sunday.

Everybody loves Armani! Il Divo was wearing Giorgio Armani for their world tour in 2009.

After lots of talking about the dress Lady Gaga had on her 2010 Grammy awards, Giorgio Armani and Lady Gaga decided to continue with their cooperation and he created dresses for her tour Monsters Ball.

Armani was also designing for Hurts, and they were to appear on Armani’s fashion show, but that never happened, since police stopped it. They didn’t have working permissions.

Roberto Cavalli was talking with Victoria Beckam and she mentioned that the Spice Girls are about to have a tour, pretty soon all the dresses the girls were wearing were made by this designer.

2006 Cavalli created 10 costumes for Christina Aguilera’s tour Back To Basics.

Britney Spears was also wearing for her tour The Onyx Hotel Roberto Cavalli and Dsquared2.

After her tour Blond Ambition and statement that she will not do tours any more, Madonna is having a comeback in 1993. For here tour Girlie Show, Madonna was wearing Dolce&Gabbana.

Dolce&Gabbana was Kylie’s first choice for her world tour Showgirl. The really enjoyed working with this diva. As they said : “She is our little princess. We were working with her so many times, and she gave us the freedom to design whatever we like”.

Jean Paul Gaultier seams to be Madonna’s favorite designer, she was working with him for so many times. For her Confession tour, Gaultier was designing the costumes.

One of the most memorable clothes for Madonna’s tour 1990 Blond Ambition was created by Jean Paul Gaultier. The designer flew from Japan to see the first show, but it was raining all night, so Madonna and the dancers wore jackets all night.

Jean Paul Gauliter was designing Kylie Minogue’s dresses for KylieX2008 tour.

Gianni Versace was working with many stars as well as Elton John in 1992 for his world tour as well as for his album.

Michael Jackson was wearing for the first time Versace in his music video Say, Say, Say. Costumes for his tours Dangerous and HIStory bacame cult. After Michaels’ death, Janet Jackson asked Donatella Versace to dress up the whole family for the funeral.

In 1989 David Bowie was wearing for his tour Tin machine Vercace’s collection.

And there are so many examples of combining these two arts and ways of expressions, because music and fashion seems to go together. Stars like to impress and designers like to dress. It will always go hand in hand.
