I Want To Paint It Red-Marco Evaristti

Marco Evaristti (born 1963 in Santiago, Chile) is an artist who lived in Denmark since the 80’s. After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Marco Evaristti drawn attention to himself with an project in 2000 that featured ten functional blenders containing live goldfish. The display in Kolding, Denmark at the Trapholt Art Museum invited guests to turn on the blenders. This led to museum director Peter Meyer’s being charged with animal cruelty.
Since he got our attention, the next project of this fine artist was a trilogy. He was painting in red in 2004 an iceberg, and this work is called “Ice Cube Project”. On March 24th he painted red a small iceberg in Kangia, fjord near Ilullissat, Greenland. With two icebreakers and a twenty-man crew, and three fire houses Evaristti used 790 US gallons to paint the iceberg blood red.
Next thing in this trilogy was to paint Mont Blanc red. On Jun 8th 2007, Evaristti draped the peak of Mont Blanc in France with red fabric, along with a 20 foot pole with a flag reading “Pink State”. He was arrested and detained on June 6 for attempting to paint the peak red. His aim is to raise awareness of environmental degradation.
And the third piece that is missing here was done in Sahara, when the artist painted a dune red. He said that it would be interesting in watching that white color turns red. I believe that he was excited in doing this.
He is well known as an artist which shocks people and does some crazy stuff, but even Dalli would say that is enough, when this man served at diner to his friends meatballs fried in human fat. He went and performed liposuction few days earlier and than prepared meal to his friends. I am not sure did they got sick and leave the room, but it would be an interesting site.
I found about this artist on shocking art, and if this isn’t shocking enough to you I don’t know what can be. Enjoy in this photos of his art!
