You thought that your work is bad and that you are not paid enough? Well, here are the photos of some poor people in Indonesia on the island of Sulawesi who are trying to make some earning for their living by working in the gold mine. This is a dangerous work and not all of them survive, most of them don’t live up to the age of 60 and that is the world where we live in. the sad truth is that here in this gold mines even work the children who are underage. Is it necessary to say that their wage is minimal? When I say minimal that is a bad word, you can freely say that they are not paid, except if you think that around half a gram of gold each, worth about 4.50 dollars is enough. That would be like $10 per day. The sad truth is that this people are working illegal and there is no health insurance. Traditional miners aren’t supposed to dig below 25 meters (80 feet). But some are down to 80 meters (262 feet), there are rockfalls constantly with 20 or 30 people killed per day. Is it all that glitters gold? Look at this black and white photos and you tell me.
