When do we eat?
Even if there are so many kinds of animals and lots of different species, there are some things which connect all of them. The nature gave them ability to live without the food for a long time. By using the reserves of fat in their bodies some animals can live and several years without taking any food. Here are some facts and you judge where the man is on this scale.
BALL PYTHON
The scientists have discovered that the health of this big African snake, (Phyton regius) depends on its digest and the type of food it is eating. The strong and long snake is very picky when it comes to food. In wildness on this snakes menu are lizards, smaller snakes, birds and smaller mammals, but very rarely it eats mousses even if this animal is more likely to be founded. Big meal digests for several months. He can stay alive without food for two years or even more.
BIRD SPIDER
Among the spiders of poison bite Avicularia avicularia, or the bird spider is known as really hungry one. This spider can eat everything from grasshoppers to scorpions and d crickets. But when he changes its gown and putting on the other one he can be starving for several months or even for a year.
AUSTRALIAN FROG
The system of digest of this frog and humans can’t be compared. After long time of starving this frogs can eat food which amounts 1/3 of its own weight. And this frog can stay without food for 4 years!
POLAR BEAR
Little bear, Thalarctos martimus, who can be 2.5 m long and 700 kg weighted is a real giant among bears. He lives on the coast of North Sea and crosses long distances in search for food. This carnivore eats fish, but also he eats moss too. Daily he needs about 2 kg of fat so he could be able to produce enough fat in his body to stay warm on those temperatures. Mother bear stays with her youngsters for four months. And only after that she is taking them out in search for food.
KING PENGUINS
Aptenodytes forsten or the king penguin, taller that 2 m and weighs 20 to 45 kg, unusual non flying bird fro, Antarctic, is good when it comes to starving and coldness, especially when it comes down to little ones. Three months on temperature which goes to 40 degrees below zero in Celsius, male is not moving in some kind of hibernation, lying on the egg, which weights 450 grams.
BAT
Bat is a mammal Chiroptera, and it can stay without food for five months. That is how log it lasts his winter sleep. Metabolism of these mammals gets slower, the hart beets go from 600 to 10 in a minute.
LEMUR
Family of Lemuridae lives in hot places on Madagascar. His favorite meal is bugs. When the big shed is they spend their time in some kind of hibernation, something similar as animals in cold places do. This animal can stay alive without food for seven months.
OPOSSUM
Family of Cercaertus to whom puhh- falangar belongs, lives in Australia and sleeps a long, long winter sleep. He can stay without food for one year.
MARMOT
Marmot, attractive little animal which looks like a squirrel lives in Northern parts of our Earth and is well known as a big eater, but when it comes to not eating he is also brave even there. He can stay without food for half a year.
DARK BEAR
Ursus arctos or the dark bear lives in Scandinavia, but also in North America too. He loves eating fruit, vegetables but on its menu can also be found some smaller animal. He sleeps a lot, and his winter sleep lasts for seven months, and that means he is not eating for seven months.
And as you can see most of these animas are able to get into hibernation, which can’t be a case with humans. Humans can stay without food for 80 days, only some are able not to eat for 200 days. We didn’t get the ability to fall into hibernation. Look at those numbers above and compare it with these numbers, and where do we get from here?
