I like these people. I have met them in all parts of the world. In the US Midwest I especially seek them out toward the end of June and on into July. It is a festive time of year for them and they usually have a lamb on the fire. It is not always easy to find a fresh, properly slaughtered lamb in the land of the supermarket.

In Turkey, it is difficult to differentiate and find them in the more rural areas. There are many wanderers and itinerants in Eastern Turkey. The most usual identifying thing about the Roma in Turkey is their music. It may sound quite similar to all other local performances but it is subtly different. The strains of Rajasthan are more distinctly heard and set it apart from the klesmeric strains of the Middle East.

In the US, I also find them mixed in with the horse racetrack backside help. I also see them at horse auctions. While they now pull their caravans with Powerstroke Dualies, they still have a way with horses.

"There are lots of things being said and believed that Gypsies do, but here are some myths which are not true."

Maybe you should've asked people who actually live near them for some real life experience. For many people -mostly those who see them from a distance only or in movies or restaurants as musicians- they seem to have a romantic, passionate lifestyle. In reality, this "passion" prevented them from internalizing the minimal requirements of civilization in most countries where they live for hundreds of years (while ALL other ethnicities who arrived around the same time did just that). Ask Finland. Ask Hungary. Nobody who lives near them likes them due to their tribal habits -and simply because most stereotypes are true (they don't wash, they don't think it's a problem to steal from non-gypsies, they are aggressive etc).
